The past few days have been loooonnnng and I had no internet access.
I'm really sorry to all who got super concerned - I AM ALIVE AND WELL!
My days have been spent between the church and their projects, and my bed - with only a short drive and a shower separating the two!
I learned the hard way not to run away from the food - it really does have a way to follow you home! On Saturday about 6 containers of food was set before me, just as I finished eating something some sugar cane, roasted corn and other goods. My poor stomach could not handle any more! I actually didn't think I could eat any more that day but since they insisted, I decided to tell them I'll have it later. Later got later and later and the next thing I knew they had taken me and the food home. I managed to convince them that I will only have one plate of food - and so that I took. But I tell you, the "itis" surely did find me when I was done!
The church people really feed me a lot: I have had my portions of Roasted and Boiled corn/maize, Matooka, sweet potatoes, sugar cane, watermelon, stewed chicken, beef and fish (with the bone still in - you all know I'm crazy about dem bones!!!)
This morning I walked around my area and noticed that literally every other shop is a supermarket, a guest house, a restaurant a fabric store or a cell phone shop! There are one and two banks in between. Ah tell you doa, mi neva see so much shop eena mi life, but I admit its very convenient to have them!
What happens when you throw an ex-JDF (Jesus' Dance Force) member into the Bakunda Church?!
Yesterday we had a womens's meeting at church which turned out to be a concert. I learned one of their traditional dances and taught them some moves to Dj Nicholas & Kerron Ennis' Holy Ghost Church and in the words of dj nic....WHAT A CHURCH FUL' A LIFE!!!
